Will you accept Stem Cell Organs

Adoption.

What about it?

not adoption. two fertile people trying to conceive. the point is, having a baby isn't a 100% guarantee and it may take multiple embryos to conceive. there's no difference between this and ivf with multiple embryos.

Yes, but that's pie in the sky thinking.  Some people will try to justify abortion with stem cells...saying 'we have them, why don't we make some good out of this situation?"

oddly enough, we agree, but probably for different reasons. abortion can't be justified by stem cells. that's ridiculous. abortion isn't valid because it produces stem cells. i see that as a false justification.

it does, however, remain to be seen whether or not abortion can be justified on other grounds.

Ok, so what good does saying 'no' do?  The embryo doesn't get destroyed for its stem cells, but rather it gets tossed in the trash and it gets destroyed anyway.  Either way, the embryo is going to be destroyed because it's useless to the facility that created it.  Why not make what use of it you can in an attempt to help someone else?

Rather complicated issue, but assuming that you have a problem with using embryonic stem cells in the first place, rather presupposes that you think there's a life or a potential life there. What follows then is assigning a certain dignity to the embryo.

Following that, dissecting it infringes upon that dignity moreso than merely disposing of it in as a whole. This is something that's going to vary with individual depending where you stand on the line of objection.

For the record though, due to personal reasons, I'd like to see more research done on adult stem cells.
