Optimizing and/or Pipelining firefox

Recommended Posts

Sorry in advance if this is a re-post of an old topic. I searched "optimizing firefox" and "pipeline firefox" and got nothing, so thought I'd post it.

I found a basic guide in Google that had me change 4 things total in the about:config . I just figure out of all those options, there's a lot of tweaking to be done.

What I've done so far:

Set the value of network.http.pipelining to "true".

Set the value of network.http.pipelining.maxrequests to "100".

Set the value of network.http.proxy.pipelining to "true"

Created "nglayout.initialpaint.delay", set to 0

I've read about tons of other stuff you can do, but I have no idea what does what. Does anyone know of a definitive guide for tweaking/fine tuning Firefox?

As always, thanks a ton for your help. I have a "Thanks to Neowin" sticker on my case, cause you guys are so damn helpful.

Peace,

Pete Zaria.

Setting MaxRequests with pipelining that high is not a good idea. Some servers will **** out on you and you will get broken pages/images. Not only that, it's very greedy to do so.
