Pete Zaria
Sorry in advance if this is a re-post of an old topic. I searched "optimizing firefox" and "pipeline firefox" and got nothing, so thought I'd post it. I found a basic guide in Google that had me change 4 things total in the about:config . I just figure out of all those options, there's a lot of tweaking to be done. What I've done so far: Set the value of network.http.pipelining to "true". Set the value of network.http.pipelining.maxrequests to "100". Set the value of network.http.proxy.pipelining to "true" Created "nglayout.initialpaint.delay", set to 0 I've read about tons of other stuff you can do, but I have no idea what does what. Does anyone know of a definitive guide for tweaking/fine tuning Firefox? As always, thanks a ton for your help. I have a "Thanks to Neowin" sticker on my case, cause you guys are so damn helpful. Peace, Pete Zaria.
vcv
Setting MaxRequests with pipelining that high is not a good idea. Some servers will **** out on you and you will get broken pages/images. Not only that, it's very greedy to do so.
stockwiz
what would you recommend the value be set at? Mine's at 100 because people said that's what it should be at.
JustGeorge
I just set pipelining to "true" didn't change anything else.
keithy397
Firefox Speed Tweak. user pref settings. Firefox Tweak Guide. Plenty to read here! But I prefer to use a little extension called Tweak Network. With this you can switch between default and power settings.
