DJ Trauma
Yeah, doesn't every webbrowser do that? It's one of the most basic functions of a browser.
uniacidz
FTP Works damn fine in Opera. Check screenie Either user error on your part if it aint working for you or some other issue. But Opera works great with FTP.
devyant
I think Opera takes a little longer to parse FTP sites, so maybe wait a little?

jp10558
I haven't ever really liked the FTP setup in any browser. I find the dedicated clients much better - though now I am able to do almost everything with Getright as I don't upload anymore, so I don't keep a client installed, I'd never use it. And with Getright Pro coming out soon ,I'll be able to do everything with Getright (I hope).

eXsub
Opera works just as good and exactly the same way as IE does whether you have to log into a site or not. 586216991[/snapback] If that is so, why is my ftp not working when i use the address? ( with the login details embeded in the address) and how can i upload files, how can i download files, rename files?? I started this topic to show that opera really doesnt support ftp to an extent that IE does at all, not even half. Hence why i posted this because opera is totally failing in this area, it needs to be sorted - and quick.
+unabatedshagie Subscriber¹ Posted July 16, 2005 Subscriber¹ Share Posted July 16, 2005 Opera can download files just fine, I'm not sure about renaming or uploading, just asking does any other non microsoft browser let you do this? eg Firefox? If I have anything I wish to do on my ftp site I use an FTP client to do this, I think the only reason IE can do it is because Microsoft basically uses the same code for their file browser (Explorer) If it really bothers you that much then sign up for the Opera Forums and do a search in the wish list forum or make a post yourself about it.
