Never with proper hardware drivers.

I got lots with my old hard drive, but that's because it was dying... On my laptop, never.

they included bsod in xp, dam i didnt know that :D

seriously though, only time i can make it crash is by overclocking to far, not xp's fault is it so i dont count it as a crash more of os murder.

i dont bother overclocking my cpu at the moment as its fast enough as it is at the moment, maybe in a few months time Mr Bsod will pay me a visit again.

u hafto install windows then your drivers then your antivirus

u hafto have antivirus with autoprotect and auto update u should have a firewall adware and spyware removers i use adaware se and webroot spysweeper

u should do a disk clean up once in a while and a defrag

try registry mechanic

try some free windows tweaks

Mine is on 24/7 and I like to reboot it every week or so. I voted month because that would be the time when it NEEDS rebooting, starts being a bit twitchy (not full performance, due to various caches filling with junk). There is usually an update every week for something or other so I never get to the month point. If a game crashes, like half life 2, then sometimes you can't get to the task manager to end the program, then it will require a forced shutdown. Stuff like that I would call a crash so...... yeah, whatever. ramble ramble ramble.

Heh, now I think about it XP has never been the cause of a crash :D

However I've had plenty of BSODs though (all my fault though...never try overclocking wih a crappy psu :p )

Win98 on the other hand.... :hmmm:

windows xp has crashed for me. but works great after you install it but after a month of hard use it slows down to a crawl and is unstable. Windows 2003 server is the greatest

The only time I've gotten a BSOD with Windows is when installing with a crappy disc.

I've only gotten the BSOD once, but that was because of a faulty RAM chip.

I have never had to reformat my system since I first installed XP back in December 2002, and it's still going sweet as! :D

Have you ever turned on your computer?

586033864[/snapback]

Obviously, but apparently I was able to take care of it even during my days with Win9x. I never touched WinME, as I went straight from 98 to 2000.

Win9x is unstable, but believe it or not, some ppl can (and have) used it without seeing the dreaded BSOD. Like I said before, it did freeze on me many times, but the BSOD is something I've only ironically seen on 2000 or XP, due to my own fault.

It was actually once or twice only because of a coruptted system file. It would cause windows to crash every time it tried to connect to the internet
