y2ken
When I try to, "right click>save image as", from a webpage the only choice given is .bmp, but the address bar says it's a .jpeg and 'properties' also says it's a .jpeg How can I save it as a .jpeg?! This only happens on one website. I know I can convert a .bmp to .jpeg but don't want to have to go through the extra step over and over again unless someone knows how to convert multiple .bmp's to .jpeg's in one step. I had this problem once before when using dial-up/Compuserve and it had something to do with a setting for compressed graphics. If I allowed the use of compressed graphics I could save images in .jpeg format. But it was a Compuserve setting, not a Windows setting. ???????????????? Saadu
What bang bang said. empty your temporary internet files from IE and close it. I use ccleaner and one click kills everything that clogs.

Fred Derf Veteran Posted June 13, 2005 Veteran Share Posted June 13, 2005 I've had that problem at times before too. It could be the way the JPEG was encoded or security settings on the site. I think this is a common issue and I somehow doubt that reinstalling Windows will help. bangbang said to clear your cache. That's a quick and easy place to start. I seem to recall that it might work if you can copy and paste the image url into the address bar so that the image is displayed full screen in MSIE. Then try to save it. I think I've worked around the problem before with something like this.
