6 Year Old Girl Hit Trying to save Turtle

Recommended Posts

This is what I gleaned:

1. Caring about people you don't know makes you fake.

2. People who care about people they don't know are weak (to go with fake).

3. Innocent children who die (and their mothers) get what they deserve for a lapse in judgement.

4. Since people are born and die all the time, there is little or no value in an individual life.

You may not care about people you don't know when they die, and you may think that people who die due to lack of common sense deserve it for their moment of forgetfulness, but there are people who don't think like you do.

If everyone thought like you do, you would be right.? Unfortunately, this is not true.? You cannot read the hearts of people who care, and you don't realize that people can have an opinion that is not yours. If your friends that you would be indifferent at their deaths because they forgot to use common sense, you would not have many friends.b>

Nice, yet obvious points. Just wondering however, why do you read these stories (why did the headline/thread title attract you so?), if they are so sad and depressing? For me, and I am not the least bit shy or ashamed to admit, it was entertainment and curiosity.

Iv got one questin: Why did her mother pull the car over on a busy highway? If the turtle was already in the middle of the traffic, what was the point? Sounds like there is more her mother could have done to save here. At least they didn't try to sue the driver of the car.

It never ceases to amaze me the amount of ignorance and selfishness that abounds on these forums. I sincerely pray this isn't an accurate cross section of real life, God help us all....

its a turtle... its not a rare animal or anything.  some people need to seperate stupity from logically thinking.

its a turtle on a busy highway... your gonna let your child run out to save a turtle...

sad to hear what happened to the kid, i would just drive around it...

That's a pretty dick way of thinking. If we all thought about things like you, our opinions would be different. I could see it now:

"It's just another girl, that got ran over by a car, we've got billions more who gives a ****?"

Man, it amazes me how people will automatically put a negative label on someone when some bad happens:

1. Stupid mother for stopping, etc. etc.....

2. Stupid kid for wanting to save a turtle, etc. etc....

How about saying it's unfortunate that a little died trying to save something as (seemingly) insignificant as a turtle? That kid may have been the most selfless person that anyone knew, but we'll never know. How about praising the mom for raising a child to be selfless and willing to help such an animal? Kids run out in to traffic everyday because that's what kids do - they don't think before they act and it's very normal, and in this case unfortunate. And the mother did try to stop her child, but she either wasn't listening or didn't hear because her mind was on the turtle. Don't criticize the mom or the child because of an unfortunate accident.

Darwinism? I don't think so.

Wow, that's tragic. :( I have a 4 year old and I imagine her saving a turtle. She's just a nice little girl like that.

Rest in peace and God bless her soul.

(Y) thank you, what people fail to see is the BIG picture and that this world just lost a good soul regardless of how senseless the decision may seem to others that is simply not the truth. Her Parents did a great job obviously for a child to have such a mentality to wanna save another life wether it not be a human one. It's still another life.
