dpitman
Hi, im wondering if anyone can help me, i own a voodoo 5500 PCI, which works fine under win 98/ME when i have an onboard Graphics card aswell (intel 810 4MB), but if i try to install win 2000 it will not boot up, but when i take the voodoo 5 out it boots fine, i think it may be conflicting with the onboard graphics. Dazzla Veteran Posted June 19, 2002 Veteran Share Posted June 19, 2002 I had onboard video on a really old PC, I had to make sure it was set in the BIOS to look for the PCI card first. Moved to Hardware Hangout forum
Dessimat0r
I hear that they do PCI version of Geforce 4s. I suggest one of these.
paulladle
Best I've seen in PCI is an Inno3D Tornado GeForce2 MX400 PCI 64mb. Can't you boot into safe mode and kill the onboard through device manager?
dpitman
thanks, any other suggestions?, i did look in the Bios and all it said was "add on VGA" or "Integrated VGA" or summit like that. i tried putting it to the integrated to see what would happen and nothing came through the monitor until i pulled the monitor cable out of the V5 and put it into the onboared graphics. atomoverride
I bought a PCI PNY GeForce4 64mb MX400 for my docking station so when my wife docks her p3 500 laptop she can play highspeed games like undying, and jedi knight 2.
Max
well, on my old pc that had a crappy onboard ati chip, i had to change a jumper on the mobo that would make the pc use pci instead of onboard.
