dpitman
Hi, I dnt think my computer is as fast as it should be for a pentium 4 system, My motherboard is a "Fic VC31" and it is a HP pavilion 7934 system, is this a good motherboard?
Tim Dorr Veteran Posted June 19, 2002 Veteran Share Posted June 19, 2002 Well, first off, I don't know if you're gonna want to be upgrading the motherboard on a packaged system like an HP. The form factor may not be the same so you probably wont be able to fit it in there. You're better off buying a new case and putting all your old components in there. As for the board itself, I'm not a fan of FIC at ALL. I tend to sta away from their boards...
username
well first lets start out by asking what speed P4 is it and how much ram do you have?

username
well a new motherboard may give you little performance. Also the 1.5ghz P4 is no jewel either, also, its would be tough to upgrade because it uses the older P4 sockets.
Joseph Zollo
The SDRAM is really slowing you down, RDRAM, or at the very least, DDR RAM is the way to go these days.
