sailgreg
I would like to upgrade the harddrive in a IBM Thinkpad laptop (10gb, 750mhz, 128mb ram) what would a good choice be? I would somthing between 30 and 60gb. I have installed harddrives in laptops before and it should be just as easy on this computer as I have already taken it out. I would like to spend less then $400 and have a reliable hard drive! Also how reliable do you think laptop harddrives are? If I shake it around alot will I loose data or damage the drive? --Greg C. http://sailgreg.tk (Updated!)
facktor
never had any problems with the HD's for IBM Thinkpads. Just don't drop them, although you don't do any noticeable damage when shaking them, I wouldn't test them that way. Make sure your IBM thinkpad can read 60gig drives. Some of the older IBM's have a hard drive size limit. Bios issue. If you have the budget go with an IBM approved hard drive and be sure to ask around to eliminate having to return the drive and all the extra hassle involved.
