Daybreak
Hmm.. I'm thinking of upgrading from a SB Live! to an Audigy Digital Entertainment... However, I'm just curious.. Are there any issues with Creative's Audigy drivers on Windows XP? I remember that Audigy's provided as-is drivers have some .. compatibility issues. Were they solved? Also, is it possible to install Creative's drivers and perhaps the AudioHQ and the core essential driver utilities without installing LiveWare!3? Surround sound support isn't really that important since I'll be using a pair of headphones <- poor me has no $$

Yes, updated drivers/software has been released. I've never had a problem though.. Also, is it possible to install Creative's drivers and perhaps the AudioHQ and the core essential driver utilities without installing LiveWare!3?Yes, just don't use the CD to install. Install the card, then go to the website and download the driver update. Install that instead.Surround sound support isn't really that important since I'll be using a pair of headphones <- poor me has no $$ bummer dood
sunnyy4
Windows XP has no built-in support for Audigy whatsoever. However, there is a CD packaged w/ the card that has the drivers. To install only the drivers, follow the following procedures: 1) When you are prompted with the "Found New Hardware" wizard, click on Next. 2) Click on the radio button that says to specify your location 3) The path to the drivers is X:AudioCommonDriversWin2K_XP(Replace X with the CDROM drive letter). Browse to that path and click OK 4) Click on Next. The drivers should be installing themselves. 5) Click on Finish. You may need to restart your system. Chris123NT
Spyder u have to install the drivers on the CD cuz the updates on the website do a driver check to see if the old ones from the CD have been installed. If the update doesn't find anything it won't install period :right:

Then again you might've meant doing it the manual way can give that error, if so let me know how wrong I am :D

Malechai Veteran Posted June 21, 2002 Veteran Share Posted June 21, 2002 Surround Mixer and Audio HQ are included if you just download the driver update from the website. They were installed for me..
Inferno3598
I tried to update my drivers from the Creative site but after I installed the driver, I couldn't boot to XP after a reboot. I had to go to safe mode and restore everything back.
