Err, you cannot compare WiMax and Bluetooth, one is for extreme range, while the other is meant for a couple of metres. Bluetooth can be used to replace a slow connection for a metre or two between computers, otherwise you should use WiFi.

wifi is gd for networking your home sharing interent connections i use http://www.netgear.com/ i prefere that others use http://www.linksys.com/default.asp , i use my bluetooth adaptor to send files and music to my mobile phone but i dont use it much so am selling it on ebay lol

Bluetooth doesn't support IP adresses

therefor I think it can not be described as an equivalent for ethernet...

It is just used to transfer files from a phone / PDA to a computer or other device.

Just like infrared.
