Recommended Posts

Hey my graphics card is overheating and i cant play games because of it. the screen will begin to flicker and then restart. i am guessing the card is overhating. how do i cool down my computer? i have an hp computer and im not shure if i can add a fan. is ther any way other than installing a fan, to cool down ur computer (ie. put a fan in front of the actual computer or sumthin). if not could some one tell me how to put a new fan in a computer. thx!

You could put in a system blower; it takes up one pci slot but i heard its really effective in blowing out hot air?

or you could just open ur case and put a fan at full speed at it... itll be pretty noisy tho lol

or you could add a bunch of fans like on gfx cards and get better cooling for your cpu? like a volcano 7+ or sumthin...

I have one of the system blowers... yeah it does take up a PCI slot but its great... I have it right under my video card... not only it cools down the card, it helps cool down the computer...

Hope it helps...

first lets just try opening the side of the case so you get some better airflow so we can see if it is a heat issue. This should cool some things down.

Yes, also try to see what your case temps are if you can in your bios or with a program (motherboard monitor)

I took a fan off an old Pentium 166 processor and mounted right on the heat sink of the graphic card, and got a 3 pin to 4 pin adapter so it would plug into the powersupply, other option is to go get a fan at your local computer store(preferrably the 5400 rpm), don't know the actual name, but the dimension of the fan is around 1.5 inches by 1.5 inches.
