Try this MCB (make sure it's on in the bios)...put it on during windows and then restart or logoff. Windows should save your settings before it reboots/logoff. When you get back into windows it should be on by default. It worked for me and hopefully it'll work for you.:)

If you are using Windows 2000 or XP, do this....

- Open Notepad

- Type the following text (or Cut&Paste from here):

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_USERS.DEFAULTControl PanelKeyboard]

"InitialKeyboardIndicators"="2"

- Save as "Numlock.reg"

- Just double click on the saved file, allow the merge in the registry.

- Voila...!!! Numlock stays on by default... ;)

I haven't tried JHAres's suggestion since my num-lock already starts with windows, but it's definitely worth a shot if you're an XP or 2k man.

The numlock status is saved for each user, but the numlock is back in ON after you did the login.

Cause my password included numbers, that was annoying for me.

The registry hack put the numlock in ON status in the Welcome (or Login) screen too, and is the default for every user... :D

Freeza , besides the numlock status in BIOS, WinXP (and 2000 if I can remember well) put the numlock in OFF by default, at least in every machine and every installation I did of WinXP.... Have you Win XP...??? ... :D
