+Dick Montage Subscriber² Posted June 12, 2005 Subscriber² Share Posted June 12, 2005 Jesus, what is it with people and their priorities? I think if any parent displays this kinda logic, they should face a board to see if they are fit to continue parenting.

Chicane-UK Veteran Posted June 12, 2005 Veteran Share Posted June 12, 2005 That woman was clearly not a fit parent.. who the HELL would lock their kid in a basement, and give the dog the higher treatment?! Was she on crack or something? That is absolutely bewildering, and her clearly easy acceptance of what happened is truely disturbing.
John Veteran Posted June 12, 2005 Veteran Share Posted June 12, 2005 I've never liked the thought of having a pitbull as a pet. They were bred to kill in dog fights; what makes anyone think they'll be a good family pet?

DirtyLarry Veteran Posted June 12, 2005 Veteran Share Posted June 12, 2005  From the mother... "I put him down there, with a shovel on the door," Faibish said in an interview with the San Francisco Chronicle. "And I told him: 'Stay down there until I come back.' Typical Nicky, he wouldn't listen to me." You mean your kid wouldn't obey you because you put HIM in the basement and not the DOGS. I hope an investigation, with criminal negligence charges, is very soon to follow.
vincent
Pitbulls can make good pets, and i have been witness to such a case. It's how they are raised and don't give me crap about the "instinct" because that is partially true but if raised in a caring, loving home then that dog will NOT attack. spare me the stereo typicall bull**** when it comes to pitbulls. nomis_nehc
to put it in perspective, in most cases, even adults will not stand a chance against a pitbull that's trying to kill.
christracy
well thankfully she is going to be charged for all this. some how 10 years still doesn't seem long enough SAN FRANCISCO, California (AP) -- The mother of a 12-year-old boy fatally mauled by the family's pit bulls was charged Thursday with child endangerment.Nicholas Faibish was killed June 3 by one or both of the family dogs when his mother went out to run errands. TwoTailedFox
If this wasn't so terribly tragic, I'd be beside myself with laughter. The Parents Have Kids. They Keep Pitbulls, dogs bred for fights. They lock their son in the basement to protect in, and he's killed upon leaving. It just further reinforces my view that people who want to be parents (either naturally, or through adoption) should sit an exam. Then, if they pass, they get an injection that restores their fertility. And sends Durex crashing out of the Dow Jones ;)
S7R1K3R
its how the dog is raised in my view. an it obviously wasnt raised in a good home so this is what happens. i feel sorry for the animal that was put down not the family. they get these dogs to look cool or to be "gangster" an then they treat them like **** to make them angry animals. i wish that all animals in captivity kill at least 1 person in the world before they die. betasp
Pitbulls, by failing to be controlled by the any certification process, has been bred out of control. Most real breeders would never touch the breed. The dogs are, and have been, bred for aggression. The breed is "broken" and it could take years to get the breed in a controlable state, if those the own them even care. I think they have great potential but for now they are only killing machines.
