Ibook Battery Life

Recommended Posts

I am looking to get a Ibook :p 12" with dvd it says the battery life is 5 hours.

What do you guys *actually* get from it, when playing dvd's, or general work.

My experience of PC laptops tend to be a lot less than the quoted time after you start to use it.

I think it was More like 3.5-4hrs Of more "consistant" use, but as with all of these kinda things, its all about what ya Doing! ... i dare so using an optical drive @ a Constant can Decrease the battery Length Considerably!? :D

i love my iBook tho ... it STILL 0wnz over my mates Crappy Duron 900 Sony Vaio! :D

I get about 3- 3.5 hours using os x when browsing the internet, word processing etc, when watching a dvd i get about 1.5 - 2hours so it is possible to watch a whole film.

On my trusty iBook right now :)

It depends greatly on what you're doing, and on the screen brightness. At max brightness watching a DVD, you may only get 1.5-2 hours on the battery. With the brightness near mininum, and just doing things like word processing or internet, I can usually get a good 3.5-4.5 hours on a single charge.
