MLapointe
I'm thinking about buying a Linksys wireless PCI card (WMP11) and a CF Card (WCF11) so my Pocket PC can access my desktop computer to surf the web on my Pocket PC and the like. They are both IEEE 802.11b compatiable. I've read on the web (Google) about how to hook up a wireless network in an ad-hoc envirement without a wireless access point. Please don't tell me to use an access point because that's not what I'm asking. Those websites just get to detailed than what it really needs to be. So if someone can explain how to get an ad-hoc wireless network up and running using these two devices (802.11b cards) in a more simplified manner that would save me a whole lot of time and confusion. Geronimo
Very Basic, -make sure you are on the same channel -make sure you are in the same SSID -make sure you are close enough. -Either you need to setup an ICS or give the CF a static ip and routes and let the Computer to accept those and route them as a proxy. Linksys has a good FAQ if you goto the WAP11 page and look there. You can translate what you they say about the WAP11 to an ad-hoc mod. Need any more help just pm me.
