It's lame to have the version numbers included in a poll like this, because some products are updated very frequently and thus it won't make sense to limit the choice like that. MustNotSleep Posted July 24, 2005 Share Posted July 24, 2005 Opera, since 8.0.. i've been testing out previous versions of Opera and they never appealed to me.. but this one takes the cake. it has everything: speed, stability, security, best skinning engine, and even customization.. sure enough, it doesn't offer customizing to the level Firefox does, as it's not open-source, but that's the only thing i have against it.. there are a few quirks here and there, and some things i miss from Maxthon (plugins), but i've learned to live with it.. i rarely fire up Maxthon anymore, i've completely switched to this incredibly fast and light browser.. Firefox is out of the question for me.. it's UI is so slow and unresponsive and it sucks up resources like crazy.. sure, it has the biggest customization capabilities and the biggest modding community (it's open source, after all), but that's not enough if i just want a fast and reliable browser that's capable of all the features i need right out of the box.. Tabbed browsing is a great invention! The extensions you can get for firefox are great. I used to use IE but then i found firefox and loved it :) I did try out opera once (7.60) i think but i didnt like it.
