mimeryme
Has anyone ever had their PC turn on or off on them unexpectedly? Basically it is random and intermitent. Yesterday, I wanted to use Nero and the thing turned off. Then again, sometimes it'd be off and I walk by it (about .5 meters) and it'd turn itself on. I didn't hookup the wakeup-on-lan feature from my linksys card or anything. The powersource is an antec 450W and the mobo is MSI's KT3 Ultra (KT333 for AMD). The PC is on a carpeted floor. (I'm thinking the power switch/jumpers are activated by some static perhaps. I know I carry quite a bit of static from walking around the carpeted office. Thanks for any leads. nartac
That is weird. Are there ghosts in the house? :p Sorry, couldn't help it. I have my computer sitting on the carpet too but no problem. Do you think there might be a lose wire connection? That is what I suspect.
Osiris
Yes I had the same problem a while back there was a problem with the videocard and the video cable input A slight vibration on the floor, for example walking past the comp would cause it to turn off on occasion and stuff like that took me a long time to get to the bottom of it, was quote a painful week or so, but I had good friends and some computer withdrawal patches to get me through it. :)
