k22
i recently updated my bios. I have an old P3 550. The new bios has a setting "Main Clock Speed" and the options "normal" (100mhz) and "103mhz". When I set it to 103mhz, windows reads my processor as running at 566mhz instead of 551. It gives a small performance increase, but not enough to risk damaging my PC as I can't upgrade right now. Would it be safe to set it to 103mhz and leave it? I don't have experience with overclocking. Thanks for any help.
Max
sounds like the fsb to me, this just makes j00r system run a little faster, as you have said. there is no real risk with such a small increase, so aslong as your pc is not overheating i would say tis ok.
