nope, but i doubt it is much different from other linux distros......

its just "linux + wine - source code + fee = lindows"

nobody is gonna buy that thing...........

linux users are able to configure wine themselfs.....

windows users wont even boder since both charges for the operating system................

Which new users man? Look at it this way...

XP $99, Lindows $99

or

New Computer + XP or New Computer + Lindows

Tell me, which do you think "new users" are going to prefer?

well, i doubt there are mcuh new users of computer these days but if there are.............samething..............when they go to computer store, they'll usually demand something that's easy, and widely used...........i mean, i don't think a computer newbie will want to start with lindows (when they don't know linux or windows) ............lindows is just for people who want to use linux, but suck at it, and want to use windows application on windows and don;t know how to configure wine.......(but i doubt they are willing to pay the fee)

well on that note i have to say this: Lindows OS is running Debian. Debian is the hacker Linux distro of choice because of the kernel. their kernel is the best there is.

Now windows XP: it runs windows apps and a 2 year old retard can make it look cool as hell. "no offence to the 2 year old retards" ;)

LoL. We're talking about new users who know little of computing Lord 3nd3r. Obviously they're gonna choose the easier and more well known O/S, in this case XP.:p

This is the best part... an OS for everyone... not only for geeks or gurus... Simpler is worst...??? Understable for everyone is a bad thing....??? :ermm:

Ok... let's make TV's more complicated, when you need to change the channel or the brightness you need to call an engineer... :D

the reason being, is because windows is everywhere and you never hear of linux except through Oracle and such. It makes me sick! why use a OS that is so "Bleh"?!?! use one that is stable and actually useful! LOL

And all this time I thought Linux and Windows users hated Macs =/

As for different distributions of linux using different kernels:

Erm. No. They all use the same kernel, with two exceptions:

1. They use different versions.

2. There are "custom" tweaks to the said kernel version (Mandrake, for one, has made changes to the kernel).

All *linux* distributions run a linux kernel originally downloaded from www.kernel.org, and modified to that distributions taste. Pfft. They don't use different kernels.
