zhangm Supervisor Posted July 4, 2005 Supervisor Share Posted July 4, 2005 These iPod thefts may be an opportunity to catch thieves. Authorities could plant GPS trackers in some "bait" iPods and allow them to be stolen, then bust whoever took them.
bigbluepride35
Could be that other MP3 players are getting stolen as well. I'm sure a criminal isn't so picky over which brand MP3 player it is. 586160031 I'm sure that is happening but not with the frequency of the iPod (at least here in NY). Gowcra
This happend to me also. Now, I live In aberdeen, Scotland and for any of you are from there, you know what im talking about. I had this happen to me a few weeks ago, but i was wearing black head phones. a chav walked up to me, and said "min, gimme yer ipod/cd player or you gettin a hidin'" and I said, look Kid, your at most 15, how about you just keep walking before something stupid happens to you. So he swings, I grab his arm, slam him to ground and stand on his throat with my foot and say "see, i WARNED ya, you picked the wrong guy to **** up tonight mate, i kicked him, and told him to get the **** outta my sight and run home to his mummy. But yes, it is a vry sad story. Very sad indeed
MrCobra
Its sad how quick this world is decomposing into a worthless generation 586159364 What's sad is that they've more than likely been in and out of the legal system and no one saw fit to keep them. Keep the trouble makers and the habitual criminals where they belong...locked up. Kid or not, the one who stabbed and killed that kid should pay with his life. dpanda
i dont think the point here is the earphones that show that you have an ipod. i mean why do we have to fear of getting an ipod. the ipod should infact make us feel proud that we have such a cool gadget. the ultimate problem is with people these days. we dont need aliens or natural disaster. human beings are a disaster alone. what the the people becoming these days. god help us all. :pinch:

Flae_qui
This is why, at least in this city, you have to get different headphones. Those white cords are asking for trouble. 586159315 totaly agree, if you buy an IPOD... step one new headphone. those things are like small targets

xpablo
Its sad how quick this world is decomposing into a worthless generation 586159364 Could not have said it better myself, just outside of Vancouver, B.C. Canada a 16yr old was attacked on his way home , he died hours later in hosptial, police arrested 2 "people" (worthless scum to society, should be executed). When I was in my teens my friends & I roamed all around Melbourne, Australia and never had problems, this world is becoming more violent with every new generation. ATLien_0
I wouldve resisted a little not knowing they would pull out a knife. Then again just getting the ipod they wont be able to charge it or transfer files to it. If they wanted one for free so bad do what I did go to free ipods . com. What is this world comming to. I just dont get it, It was a damn ipod.
duhk
I feel bad for person who died and his family, but mostly for the person that really owned the Ipod. He must be thinking it's his fault he died. what i dont understand is the kid who died thought more of his ipod than his own life At least he had balls to stick up for himself, no matter what for. For me, I would've given it to them and then fight back when I see a chance. But I think he didn't want to give it because it was a borrowed Ipod, and he didn't want to lose his friends trust by losing it. NeoXY
I just finished reading this on CNN...and reall...it's pretty sad.. I remeber when the 1st gen iPod was released, in the intro video, Apple's hardware designer (the guy with the english accent) said that they hope the iPod one day will be come a part of people's life style..a icon...and a icon it has become...but often time...man..not a good influence... So the two that attacked him were 16 and 17 years old. Not surprising. The attackers also took Christopher’s sports shoes. <darkjoke> I guess their shoes were too s*** to run in, thus they stole the guy's shoes. :pinch: </darkjoke>
