Radeon 8500(le)

Recommended Posts

Hey..

I was just wondering, since I am pondering on whether or not to get a dual monitor setup (Probability: 98 to 2), if the RADEON 8500 or RADEON 8500 LE would have the support. To my understanding, the LE does not have a digital flat panel output, but the 8500 does. I would have to get a DVI to VGA converter in order to run the dual monitors. Also, the 8500 costs $100 more than the 8500LE..

Should I spend the extra money on the 8500 + adapter? Or should I get a really cheap video card for the second monitor and run all the games on the 8500LE?

Also, would it be wise to have a lower-end card on a second monitor that wouldn't have games running on it?

Thanks.

I saw no processor core difference when comparing the cards.

Also, does anyone know if the 8500 comes with a DVI to VGA adapter?

yea it comes with an adapter, a software cd and a counterstrike cd. also has a svideo cable but its short.

and the le is clocked slightly slower at 250/240 whereas the normal 8500 is at 275/275

the thing about the card is it had a standard vga output and a dvi output and they give you one adapter for the dvi to vga. and it has an svideoout put, i dunno how the le is.

OK Thanks. I just saw that both cards were 400MHz (the 128MB model). The LE does not have a DVI output. S-Video connections are for hooking up to your TV :)
