Put the funny to one side and ask yourself "Does space belong to NASA?"

Space belongs to no one. Space belongs to everyone. If your country doesn't have a space program worth jack, that doesn't mean you should preach about weird concepts like 'ownership of space'.

You sound a bit too tightly wound, chill out man.

If space belongs to everyone then damn NASA for crashing into my part of it

I hope NASA has insurance cover

ok so nasa can smash up a comet a bit, and i support that since it should provide very useful info about planet formation i guess.

what happens if they decided (hypothetically) to do the same to the moon? Anyway who could stop them... could be a little tricky

Studies on the moon are pretty much limited, although a few misions are planned for it. But nothing in the way of crashing an object into it.

eh, you do know that the moon is way too big to be knocked out of orbit by such a small satellite? There are craters on the moon already that are way bigger than the ones we can produce.

yeah i gather that.. the moon is quite large indeed. and i dont even mean that seriously... but you see the extention of the argument? i guess stuff like this in space isnt really much different to mining or weapons testing or whatever on earth... but its interesting nonetheless
