surge protection

Recommended Posts

I have two machines running in the same room, as well as printers scanners etc etc.

What, if any surge protection do people use. I'm concerned that I might loose the lot if I don't protect properly.

Do I protect the mains power supply, and or the phone (dsl) as well?

:right:

lol, i went down to robert dias and got one for 10 quid, now to see what it says.... tis 'power clean'

tis worth it for such a small amount of money... although the chance of getting cooked by a power surge is small, imagine what it would be like if your mobo got cooked!

Yes indeed I am faced with the same problem

But here in Aus

a descent 6 socket surge protector is $70

and it protects agaisnt low level lighting strikes and the surge protector comes with a guarentee that if any equipment is damaged from lightning or power surges while using the protector they will replace the equipment upto the value of $25,000

how good of a deal is that, you cant go wrong with a deal like that.

oh yeh, mine comes with a ludicrous compensation if the product fails. strange that tis so expensive for you tho, mine is 6 socket, and i am sure it is not too bad a make (who cares, the stupid compensation would pay for a brilliant new pc 2x over)

i use an UPS , APC Backups Pro 350 USB, Line conditioning surge protection, battery backup and phone line protection.

UPS's are the best.
