Yes they do, "God has a plan" sound familiar.

Anyway, thats pretty bad, what those kids did. I mean, I get that their atheists, but thats some pretty big bridges they burred if they ever change their mind.

OT:

Since supposedly God has plans for everyone and most christians that I know say something along the lines "if God lets it happen", "if God would like to happen", stuff like that. Isn't that some kind of destiny. It all was planned beforehand.

Not bashing or anything. Just curious

Edit: Same as above (posted before I saw it).

Well, the Quran and the Holy Bible and so forth are all doctrines and testaments and so on, upon which religions were established.

Holy Water is just something invented by the church for rituals to mimic a scene or two in the New Testament.

It's all well and good to respect other people's beliefs. I'm not saying not to. But I will eagerly question their beliefs, and anyone who is offended by having their faith challenged perhaps isn't all that sure of themselves to begin with.

$17000, ****, holy water is expensive  :o  :o  :o

that's what i thought at first, but if you actually look at it, it says how they did a lot more than just mess up the holy water....

those tresspassers should be dealt with to the maximum extent of the law. Property damage is not funny, and should not be tolerated in our Countries.

The month before my school closed, grade 12s jumped the fence into the vice principal's house and climbed his roof and jumped into his swimming pool. they dumped garbage cans all over the place and damaged lots of stuff, and soiled the pool.

You can only imagine the anger the family now has.

What exactly is funny about it? It's an action of utmost disrespect to a religious object billions of people revere. When we hear of urine being splashed on a Koran, the world recoils in shock and disbelief, but when a similar occurence happens with 'holy water', it's funny?

Damn teenagers? Look in the mirror buddy. Anyone who thinks such a horrible deed is 'funny' has a lot of growing up to do...

You said it. This applies to everyone in this thread that thinks it's funny. If you're atheist, fine, leave us alone and quit bashing those with a religion. If you think Christians (or some other religion) are going too far in converting people and spreading their belief, some atheists aren't that much better by going too far and spreading hatred.

Damn it. This society's going to hell at a rapid pace.

That's classic - nothing quite like marking territory. Personally, I would have been disposed to drink the wine, instead of tossing bottles of it against the wall. I wonder if they'll be forgiven for their actions...WWJD?

Charged are 18-year-old Dan Seklar, 17-year-old Richard DeCarolis, 16-year-old Michael Street and a 15-year-old who is being charged as a juvenile. All are charged with burglary and criminal mischief, both felonies.

I thaught that it was illegal to publish the names of minors, even if the 16 and 17-year-olds are being charged as adults, they are still minors.

Uhhh, pranks aren't supposed to harm anything. If you read the article they didn't just **** in Holy water, they also ran skid marks in the carpet, smashed up wine bottles on the walls, emptied fire extinguishers (oh, so if the church had a small fire, what would you use to put it out? sheesh!), burned cigarette holes - all those don't sound like pranks. They sound like the actions of some dopehead f***s, plain and simple.

Mistake? My ***.

You mean like the faith of believing there is no God? It takes way more faith to believe in God than not to. Atheists claim to know everything. Think about it. If they say they don't claim to know everything, then they HAVE to admit it's possible that God could exist outside of what they know. A theist doesn't claim to know everything -- just that there is a God.

Actually, atheists are just as religious about their beliefs. Edited by King Rilian

Eh? What's that got to do with anything I said? What is it with theists thinking you're either theistic or atheistic anyway? That's so shallow. I'm not theistic, nor am I atheistic, nor am I agnostic. Too much to think about? Here's what I am:

I don't put faith into the existence of a god. I also don't believe there's no god. I don't know if there is or isn't a god, which sounds agnostic. And I'm very close to agnostic. There's just one big difference: agnosts believe nobody can ever know if a god exists or not. But see, that requires faith, too. Hell, that's the exact same faith religion demands (Christians believe you can't KNOW god exists, which is why faith is required--oddly, they love to talk about miracles and other so-called 'proof' of his existence, which always struck me as confusing). So I say, maybe we CAN know there's a god. Which means maybe we can know there isn't a god. The only thing for sure is, right now, I don't know either way, so I'm not about to spend my faith on anything.

Especially the Red Sox.

I couldn't agree more. I would have thought there would be more mature people here at Neowin who would be appalled at this, but instead most members laughed

As for those teenagers - I'm 15, I'm not really religious, but I know whats wrong and what's not and this is pretty damn wrong. Idiots.

It seems that people are taking this more seriosly since it was a church

It happens in other buildings all the time.

Teenagers these days dont have respect for anything, i dont think churches are singled out
