drewster2100
ok, let me start off, my current xp install was having problems, so i decided to reinstall xp, i back up what i need to, pop in xp cd, restart, and go into the first part of setup (where the background is blue) and as it copys the files there were quite a few that said the file could not be found, i pressed enter to retry, half of them worked, the other half i had to skip, i thought, somethings ****ed up, ill retry, same thing happens, but worse (and i have installed xp with this drive before) so i try making my dvd drive master, and using that (instead of cd burner), woohoo! gets through first part, but when its at the second part, boom! blue screen "IRQL_LESS_OR_NOT_EQUAL" well ****, then i try my old dvd drive that doesnt read dvds, works great, so what were my problems? cd burner broke, need to return it? dvd drive bugged up? or what?!?! thanks, ladr

Max
insane, such a message could mean j00r ram is messed up, try pushing upon to make sure it has not come a little bit loose, if all else fails, just try with one stick(i presume you have two) ... the messed up ram could be the cause of your previous crashes. i could be wrong of course, but tis important to remeber that ram is a strange fellow, twill trick you with its masses of deviance ;)

So defiantely try using just 1 ram chip. A messed up ram causing all sorts of weird inexplicable problems, i spent several months of my pc having bizzare problems before i discovered one of my ram chips was buggered, and something was wrong with my motherboard to. hobsgrg
The only thing i could suggest is that maybe the battery powering ur bios is dead, though as u have a modern motherboard it doesnt sound very likely, maybe ur pc just doesn't like you?
