Midnight Mick
IMO the Tab placement in the Beta versions of IE7 (From the Longhorn shots on the main page) look wrong. The Tabs are above the menu section (File, Edit, View etc..) & this is to far away & high from the main browsing window. MS should take notice of all other browsers (Maxthon, Avast, Firefox etc) & place it where the others have. It just looks like an add-on rather than a full incorporation. :(
Makeshift Hammer
Maybe it's just a default layout that can be altered?
PureLogic
To be perfectly honest I don't understand a thing about the placement of the menus in Longhorn, Explorer itself doesn't seem to have them at all (looking at the latest leaked screenshots). Shetland
its so totally wrong, it goes against the way windows has displayed its GUI since the beginning. I think its to avoid any problems with the other browsers maybe? notice the File menu, all the options that are in both FF and IE for example are swapped File New Window New Tab File New Tab New Window etc etc.

jphillips59
Here is info on the implimentation including why they have done it that way IE7 Tabbed Browsing Implementation http://blogs.msdn.com/ie/archive/2005/05/26/422103.aspx
PureLogic
explorer prolly wont have tabs, only IE 586187674[/snapback] Yea duh. But what I'm saying is they're screwing around with those menus (file, edit, window etc.). In IE they're placed under the tabs, and explorer.exe don't seem have them at all, in other builds they were placed under the toolbar buttons instead of above them. Keito
I also agree that it looks out of place :\ anyways, someone with access to IE7 should try out CSS compatibility etc.
Zeitgeist
Has anyone ripped IE7 to work in XP/2003? They said it would be released in summer and it's almost gone!
Takhisis
Maybe they will have the option of moving the toolbars around, like you can in MS Office.
