Well, I was watching TV, and it just switched itself off, i tried switching it off from the mains and switching it back on and it still never worked then I tried replacing the fuse in the plug, but it still doesnt work

the tv is over 20 years old, an old Ferguson TV

Does anyone know how I could maybe fix this myself?

Thank You in advance (Y)

just get a new one if u can't fix it yourself

if u fix it else where, it's still going to be an old tv

u've been using it for 20 years already

It'll cost more to fix the set than it will to pick up a cheap analog tube at your local electronics store. Just get a new one.

moved to home theater

It looks like the TV has died. It is 20 years old after all. Maybe it's time to buy a new one.

I'm sure it died a couple of times before but that was like almost a decade ago

You cannot just "repair it" with a TV like that you almost always need to replace the part that has broken you can't just make a bulb or something and them parts are expensive / rare / hard to get a hold of.

Would really be better to ebay it as a collectable that recently stopped working and put the cash from that towards a new TV.

Be sure not to open it up, TVs, especially old ones can have lots of capacitors inside holding charge after they're unplugged; it's therefore very dangerous to open it up and try and fix it.

Buy a new one.
