MulletRobZ
Hullo! I was wondering if you fellows know where I might be able to get version 29.80 or even version 30.x of the Detonator drivers for the NVidia video cards. I wanted to experiment with the new drivers to see if I can get pixel shading and environmental bump mapping to work on my GeForce4 MX 420. It should have worked, but 3DMark2001 SE said there is no support for such capabilities! And yet the GeForce4 MX 420 is one of the newest cards out there? Jeez! So if you know where I can get those drivers, let me know since the latest on NVidia's site is 29.42.
liar2
the geforce 4 mx series have absolutely no support for pixel shaders so i don't think drivers will help you get any of that to work.

He's right bro, sorry.. G3's and G4 Ti's are the only ones with pixel shaders.
zivan56
The GeForce4 MX series were supposed to have pixel shading originally, but they dropped in before their release. That must suck, I was going to get a Gf4 MX 440, but now good thing I bought a Gf3 ti200.

paulladle
Whoops, especially considering you can get a GF3 Ti200 for less than a GF4 MX 440 if you shop around.

MulletRobZ
Frig! I was going to get a GeForce3 Ti 200, but they only had the 128 MB version, which costs like $300 CDN! That's why I got the GeForce4 MX instead. Also, I wouldn't dare shop online. The 64 MB version of the GF3 Ti200 costs $150 CDN online and my GeForce4 MX 420 costed me $160 CDN. But look at the bright side of things! At least I could get a 3DMark2001 SE rating 15 times higher than I did on my old suckass 8 MB SiS 620! I could finally run Quake 3 Arena and Windows 2000 Professional runs nice and clean without any difficulties! I could probably view DiVX at maximum quality now thanks to the upgrades I did recently! The GeForce4 MX is still better than the other MXes, GeForce2's, and even better than the TNT2's. I just downloaded the 29.80 drivers.
