Pick your favourite 2008 president candidates

Recommended Posts

Which candidate from both parties in your opinion is going to emerge as the frontrunner to run for president as Bush can run only 2 terms so both GOP and DNC will have 2 new candidates, it will be the most interesting race since 2000! and we know what happened then!

Mccain / Giuliani , if they run together will win, no matter who the DNC puts up.

but will the religious right accept a pro life Giuliani

McCain will run, but he has no chance, he's too much of a RINO to get the nomination. And Frist might run but his ineffectiveness in dealing with obstructionist Democrats in the Senate will rule him out as well. I think a Jeb/Condi or Condi/Jeb ticket would rock all kinds of ass though.

Orange? Are you roughly 5' 9" at the moment and needing to get down to that optimal weight of 170? You got a ways to go. Whew. Good luck man. Stay away from Dairy Queens.

On topic: I liked what that dude said.

if they want to win yeah. Not to mention he would most likely be the VP, since McCain said he would settle for nothing less than president otherwise hes happy where he is at. Not to mention it would actually be a moderate RNC nomination which would be good for the country after the hardcore conserv we got now.

disagree here. i think the religious right are good in one thing and thats being consistent in thier views. I dont think they will change thier views for politics

they won't change their views, but people don't want to lose power and influence. If they put up another super conservative they have a chance of losing. Now if they put up a moderate repub. they have a chance to keep power and influence in the white house. Its more of a compromise.

Call me crazy, but I'm imagining a race between Frist and Clinton.

Frist?!?! LOL, I would love for the neo-cons to pick a guy like that. Clinton would win hands down.

I think the reasons Hillary will never win have to do with a lot more than her gender...

As the poster after you said, most of the people who wouldn't vote for her would not be doing it because of her gender.

Plus, there are plenty of female voters who would vote for Hillary mostly because she is female. I'd argue there are more of those than people who wouldn't vote for her because she's a woman. I wouldn't vote for her because she's a scumbag. I don't care what gender she belongs to.

Anyone but Hillary. Don't want a thick ankled gestpo in the White House.

Whether you like her kankles or not,it comes down to who is better for the job.

OK, first of all, Bush is not a 'hardcore conserv'. He may be religious, but his spending certainly isn't conservative by any means.

Anyway, i don't really care who gets put up. I can rest assured that unless McCain is up for president, i won't like any of the candidates, as usual. (And even McCain isn't that great, politically. I like him as a person, as one of the few politicians who aren't scam artists, but i don't necessarily agree with his policies.)

I suppose Hillary will be in the race at some point, though.

See, that's one of the reasons I could see her winning. A lot of people like something different, not too off the wall, but different. Many times that'll bring the non-voters out of the woodwork as well.

Jesse Ventura, anyone? :p

Actually I believe the text Boog quoted is in error. Giuliani is pro-choice, and why would the religious right wingers have any problem with someone who is pro-life like they are?

Whatever view a Vice Presidential candidate has on matters that neither he nor the President can affect is of no consequence to most voters.

I think you underestimate the amount of Conservatives there are that are NOT religious right. Conservatism doesn't have to have anything to do with religion and up untill a few election cycles ago it was only a small aspect of it.
