World's Smallest Political Quiz

I'm a CENTRIST...

CENTRISTS espouse a "middle ground" regarding government control of the economy and personal behavior. Depending on the issue, they sometimes favor government intervention and sometimes support individual freedom of choice. Centrists pride themselves on keeping an open mind, tend to oppose "political extremes," and emphasize what they describe as "practical" solutions to problems.

Centrist here too. Glad to see (although i knew :p ) i'm as far away from the right wing (short of being a libertarian) as possible.

LIBERTARIAN

Your PERSONAL issues Score is 90%.

Your ECONOMIC issues Score is 70%.

LIBERTARIANS support maximum liberty in both personal and

economic matters. They advocate a much smaller government; one

that is limited to protecting individuals from coercion and violence.

Libertarians tend to embrace individual responsibility, oppose

government bureaucracy and taxes, promote private charity, tolerate

diverse lifestyles, support the free market, and defend civil liberties.

Registered Republican, but centrist in the graph. It's interesting, in college I took a similar but more complex quiz and it rated me as a centrist leaning towards Democrat.

interesting...

flawed quiz. I usually score as a centrist. A real political quiz ought to be much longer than this. I'm actually a resgistered Democrat in the US, but I'm more of a Centrist.

Your PERSONAL issues Score is 40%.

Your ECONOMIC issues Score is 80%.

This quiz is lame. The political-compass one is better.

It says i'm a 'liberal'. I'm not. I can't stand the Democratic Party. It said that because i don't want to entirely get rid of welfare (i think it needs to be restricted a lot, but it shouldn't be replaced by 'private charity') and because i'm not entirely sure that 'government handouts to business' are always bad. Certainly there aren't a whole lot of gigantic conglomerates that need government hand-outs, but helping out smaller companies would be nice for the economy, i think.

SO YEAH THIS TEST SUCKS

Slightly agree. I could care less about the Democratic party. I do agree that welfare needs to be restricted but not scrapped. It gets abused too much but there are alot of people that still need it. I don't disagree with gov't handouts if it helps small (really small) buisness or helps companies that truely help the enviorment (like using more efficient fuel or better waste management gets you a bit of help with taxes but not all out tax cuts. Just a smidge). As for the test, it's just not accurate.

well what do you expect? they only asked so many questions. they can't be as accurate because it's not as detailed.

and your opposition to the democratic party doesn't make you any less of a liberal. i, too, can't stand the democratic party, but i'm still a liberal libertarian.

In America, anyway, liberal means 'like Democrats'. I am nothing like Democrats.

The only obvious form of socialism i believe in is municipal utilities; welfare is abused; Social Security is abused; the First Amendment is abused (both ways, but in this case i'm talking about how 'liberals' try to use it to justify wiping out Christianity from public society); i'm anti-abortion; i don't support legalising drugs; i don't support Affirmative Action or any other government hand-outs based on coincidental traits like skin colour and gender and sexual preference; i don't support unnecessary fire-arm restrictions; i don't support a big government; i don't necessarily support the UN (it was a good idea, but it seems kinda broken now); i don't support socialised health care; i tend to think that capitalism works fairly well (better than socialism, anyway); i don't support research into certain science-related areas such as stem cells as heavily as they do.

Pretty much the only things i have in common with 'liberals' in America is that i disapprove of the use of religion in the government, i'm not particularly fond of big corporations (although i don't blame them for everything like Democrats tend to), i have a more forgiving view of certain crimes and 'alternative' life styles, and i fully support gay rights.

But, yeah, i didn't expect a whole lot from 'the world's smallest political quiz'. Just saying... if you're gonna spend the time to take the quiz, why not take one that's a little more meaningful.

The political compass one is better. This is way too US centric but here is my score anyway.

Your PERSONAL issues Score is 80%.

Your ECONOMIC issues Score is 100%.

I cannot say that I agree with the description of libertarian. While I personally believe we should treat every "individual" human being with respect, I do not believe in adding more government interference in our lives through activist legislation and altering of societies institutions.

Activism tend to lead to more/bigger government and it can also diminish the freedom of others as a side effect. I guess you could say that I'm a social "conservative".

BTW. I find it ironic that the word "liberal" used to be associated with laisse-faire economic doctrine and now it tends to signify the opposite.

It's relative. It doesn't mean that everywhere in the world.

But if you think about it, it isn't really ironic at all, not any more. If you consider the actual strict definition of 'liberal' (in other words, progressive, or demanding change) versus 'conservative' (in other words, staying the same), then it makes perfect sense. America started with a laissez-faire economy, so logic dictates that anyone who advocates another system (in this case, socialism) would have to be a liberal, and anyone who advocates staying the same would have to be a conservative. That's in America, though; it might get a little more complicated in other countries. (And we're also ignoring the fact that the economic values tend to become tainted by certain social ones.)
