Gone
Hello, I am running in linux so I can't run IE (I don't want to wine it). I want to be able to open IE only websites. Is there an extenstion or string that I can install/change to trick it into acting like IE? Thanks!
raskren
You could modify the User Agent string. I'm not familiar with many Linux web browsers or ActiveX support on Linux. But I do know if a site relies on ActiveX it may still remain "IE Only".
Malisk
You can't fool Firefox into acting like IE, but you can fool websites into thinking they are acting with IE, by changing the "user agent string". Not as efficient, but it could be worth trying out... The extension for it: http://extensionroom.mozdev.org/more-info/useragentswitcher Don't expect it to solve any ActiveX issues though, as you're on Linux and even if there are Firefox extensions to help with this too, they assume you're on Windows and have the underlying plumbing to make it at all work in place. ActiveX is a proprietary technology incompatible with Linux through Firefox.
pdog
no, you would have to use wine (its actually not as bad as you think). Its even better to run it under cedega or crossover.
