What made you switch?

Recommended Posts

like some other people, i didnt make the change immediately. it took me a few weeks to really get adjusted to a new browser after using IE for so long. but once i made the change, it was for good. tabbed browsing and extensions were the main reasons, but i also like the fact that its open source with a huge community behind it. it also has new features added to it continuously.

3 Tabs (I rarely use them, bad habit maybe?)

3 Open Source

3 Installation size, ease of upgrades

Well... IE stopped working for me. Lol So i had to use a different browser. Firefox was the next best choice. But once i switched, i liked it because it was a lot safer to use and i LOVE the tabs and the pop up blockers with out the noise. Lol

you can have the folders in any order you want, just use the "manage bookmarks" page to move them

its very easy to move them anywhere on the toolbar

I used Maxthon formerly MyIE2 for quite a while, then made the switch to Firefox because it is not bloated with features, simple, easy to use, it has essential features (like tabbed browsing), and some nice extensions. I like its download manager too :D

Aside from Netscape, I never had experience with any other browsers other from IE before. A friend introduced me to Firefox, which I did keep on my computer, but I didn't use it in the beginning because I didn't like the feel of the browser. Eventually, as time went on, I unexpectedly grew to use Firefox primarily. I didn't even focus on the fact that FF has tabbed browsing and extensions, the switch was just gradual. :p
