SP33Dl2acer
I'm building a new comp and have already decided on most of the components but the CPU, mobo, and ram... i wanna know how much of a difference a 1900+ to a 2200+ would be in performance. And hearing about the release of the 2400+ on the verge of release should I wait for that or just wait till its release so the other prices fall? Also I would like to know if you would recommend this mobo I'm getting, the Asus A7V266-VM. As for ram it's 512MB PCI 2100 DDR memory (any specific brand i should get?) Any opinions on making this setup better? I'm not worried about the other components I have all those covered already. Thanks in advanced. :D
vf-
ohh its nForce there great boards for athlons very fast and stable mobo i found as im using a7n266-c got it for gaming and onboard sound, fancy architechture for ram plus drivers are straight forward just like nvidia card drivers ;) but id wait for later model of athlon chips more are coming soon but stay with 512ddr pc2100 and asus board and as for diff from 1900+ to 2000+ no diff really as this tbird 1.4Ghz keeps up with 1.6Gz pretty well as i said u should really wait, be worth yer money all good comes to those who wait ;)

SP33Dl2acer
Thanks for the help V_F :D :D :D ... I'm beggining to wonder though if I should go with the A7N266 or A7N266-C since they can hold more ram... and would be easier to uprade than the A7N266-VM. Should I go with the A7N266/A7N266-C and spend an extra $50 or so with upgrading in mind. Or stick with the economic A7N266-VM?

SP33Dl2acer
About the PC2100 DDRram though... which brand would be the best in your opinion? Is there a name brand thats recommended... or will any PC2100 DDRram do just fine? I hear crucial and corsair are what I should get, but I'm not to sure. Nude Rooster
The best ram hands down is Mushkin , but I have had good luck with my crucial ram, I am running it at Cas 2-2-2 at 2.75v and it has been truckin for a year now, it benchmarks out pretty good. Also corsair is really good, you heard right, but the best is still Mushkin.
Nude Rooster
You may also want to look at this article at Toms Hardware before you delve into a nForce board. Toms hardware is a very well respected site.

username
I would wait a few and try to get a .13m Athlon XP, probably a 1800+ to 2000+, easy to OC also the performance it great too. Get what has the best price for you. The best mobo is the Epox 8K3A (KT333) http://www.sharkyextreme.com/hardware/moth...cle.php/1367631 http://www.digit-life.com/articles/roundupmobo/ Also just get Crucial, its the best ram, great price too http://www.amdmb.com/article-display.php?ArticleID=

And the KT333 build on even more performance than the KT266A
