Closing tabs - default order

Recommended Posts

Hi, i have multiple tabs open. When i close one it goes to the last one i had open, but i'd rather it default to the tab next to it - like firefox.

I'd also like to know how that when i relaunch opera whilst it's still open, i'd like it to open another window (seperate to that of the exsisting one ) like firefox also.

I'd also like to know how to highlight keywords its sound once typed in the search field at the top, as at the moment if im searching for something i have to click on it to see if it has found anything. Also if im browsing different webpages and i want the search to find what i have typed on on the other pages.

Thanks!

Note; see other posts for my questions

First off, my suggestion is to chill out and let time go so you get to know Opera. Explore all the possibilitys.

#1: Preferences -> Advanced -> Browsing -> "Open page next to active". - Not so hard to find, eh?

#2 File -> New Window, Alt, CTRL+ALT+N. Even more easier to find, eh?

You're welcome.

thanks but is there not a way i can just click opera.exe again to open a new window?.. if i start using keyboard shortcuts like that i'll tihnk im using a mac ;)

EDIT:

No that tab order didn't help. If i have around 5 different tabs open, i close one and it selects one - Which isn't the next inline on the right of it.

Is there a way i can set it so when i close a tab, the next tab it selects to is the tab on the right - like firefox does?

You can choose. And you can the button drag and drop to the right top corner of the page, or anywhere else.

#1 You can't change the way opera uses the tabs other than the order they open in, you can modify a keyboard shortcut or a mouse gesture to do this though Or as someone else said there is a button to be found which does the same thing.

#2 You can set opera to not open pages in tabs (this will have the unfortunate side effect of making opera work a bit like IE or default firefox. As has been said before the only way I know is to use the keyboard shortcut CTRL+ALT+N, you could modify a mouse gesture to do the same thing though.

#3 Not possible, there is a userjs which will highlight the searhed for item only on the tab in which the search was started on. You can get it here
