Armor saves sniped soldier's life

You do realise that you just witnessedan attempt to take someones life. What kind of sick ###### are you to call that awesome? It's people like you that make humanity such a ****ing disgrace. I'm sick of people thinking war is cool, when will they open their eyes and realise that innocent people are dieing!

...P.S Sorry if it seems harsh but it's the attitude of people like Unwonted, that really gets to me.

I mean freaking awesome that he lived, captured, and tended to the wounds of a person who tried to lurk in the shadows and kill him.

I'm in the military myself, and it always thrills me to see (or hear about) our guys survive and win without serious injury. If he had died or gotten hurt, believe me--my reaction would have been far different. Is it so wrong to be happy someone survived and got the bad guy?

Hopefully you can see more than one-dimensionally now. I love God, and I love people. I'm glad God kept the people alive, good and bad.

Don't be so quick to pass judgement! Especially the disgrace to humanity part...you should reserve words like that for people like Hitler and Stalin, not a guy cheering when someone lives and does well. In life, you'll scare away many people who could have made good friends for you if you scream at people before you know what they are conveying.

:D

I'm sure that they were making that video to go back and gloat or bolster each other (the insurjents that is) or recruit more people. The millitary should make sure it gets back to the terrorists, that way all the new insurjents will think the americans are invicible. i mean **** if I didn't know he had body armor on I would think he's god.

WRONG! The whole world is being attacked not by random insurgents/terrorist that have no connection, but by Radical muslims who want to kill everyone in the name of THEIR GOD. There SOLE  purpose to kill is because of religion. This is a war agianst radical muslims who wish to kill nonbelievers.

WRONG!! Most of the organized terrorist campaigns use religious motivations as a rationalization to their home base populace and as a recruiting tool, but the causes have been political. According to the letter from Bin Laden to the US press after the 9/11 bombings the primary motivation was not religious but rather the heavy presence of US troops in and around Saudi Arabia and in protest of the first invasion on Iraq. This is not a religious war, but one of politics and secular ideologies. Religion is how they sell it to the masses.

They are hardly alone in the practice.

The main point of the article seems to have escaped most, in that the soldier that was hit captured and then offered medical assistance to his attacker.

An excellent example of how our forces actually treat those who are opposing us.

After tracking down the now-wounded sniper with a team from B Company, 4th Battalion, 1st Iraqi Army Brigade, Tschiderer secured the terrorist with a pair of handcuffs and gave medical aid to the terrorist who?d tried to kill him just minutes before.

I'm sorry, did you have something to contribute?

Religion is a standard recruiting tool, but hardly the cause, THAT assumption would be almost criminally naive.

But hey, whatever floats your boat
