Keldyn
My present mobo has 4 IDE channels. It is not exactly new either. (more than 1 year old) IDE 3 & 4 can be used for RAID configuration and so forth....

Nude Rooster
Originally posted by silly_walk Must it be on the MOBO? You can buy PCI IDE controllers to add more drives. Promise has PCI ide controllers, a lot of mobo's with onboard raid will also function as ide contollers as well. I run a Soyo SY-K7M Dragon+ and it has a raid controller, with a switch of a jumper it becomes 2 more IDE channels (4 more HD's, 2/channel) I know that alot of ABIT boards have this option, I have an ABIT KG7 raid, I dont know if that one will function at a IDE or not, and a Asus A7V that has additional IDE's. Actually everyone of my mobo's 4 IDE channels now that I think about it. Check out promise if you want to buy one seperate of the mobo.
