The end of Eminem?

Recommended Posts

On Eminem's new summer tour, a tense video storyline is woven through the Detroit rapper's show. Following a montage of visuals encapsulating his vast celebrity -- magazine covers, TV footage, limos, crowds -- the star is seen alone backstage, aiming a loaded pistol at his image in a mirror before turning it toward himself.

The climax is abrupt: With the gun to his temple, Eminem pulls the trigger. The screen goes black.

When the dressing room eventually fades back into view, the audience sees that the rapper sits unharmed; the gun has misfired. Eminem looks into the camera.

"This is how you go out with a bang, baby!"

At a casual glance, it might come off like the latest shock attack in a career defined by controversy. But dig a bit deeper and you'll come upon a revelation even more startling, one that has been known only to the artist's closest friends and associates.

Marshall Mathers is ready to get rid of Eminem.

He is going to retire? This is good news. How about a name change like E.nem and give himself a new name. This doesn't bother me really. This might be the beginning of something new.

The article is a long one, but I can understand some of how he feels. They mention how he's drained and can no longer write in the Eminem persona as people expect him to and that he may want to go on to write as Marshall Mathers or someone else. All I know is that I have a very high respect for his talents.

thank you bangbang, i fully agree with you, at least one person i can agree with. Some people are just so blinded and don't appriciete much of his talent or at least his ideas and rhymes and how he made it.

No, it means that the only stuff he puts out is the stuff people expect from him and that anything else he may have written is nto on the album. I have no idea why you have to go around to both threads and continue this little thing against him, but I respect him. Just like you respect Trent Reznor and I don't.

uhm obviously most of you don't understand his style. Because Eminem and Slim Shady are different and have different styles. Hense his "band" D12, 6 people(now 5) having 2 difefrent personas.

whatever no point of argueing or explaining anything because with Eminem it's either hate him or love him.

Eminem is at the top of his game. Like he says in one of his songs:

I probley never get the props I feel I ever deserve

but I'll never be served, my spot is forever reserved

If I ever leave earth, that will be the death of me first.

Eminem is the king of combo lyrics. He rocks IMO. Its sad to see him retire, but like he says in all his songs, he needs to go while he is on top.

Just admint when its at its end.

The day Eminem leaves the music business, the average IQ of people who listen to music will double...

Honestly, I never understood how people can enjoy listening to all the hate and other BS in his rap crap... Good riddance I say, here's hoping the rest of this schizo's split personalities bugger off too...

I respect him as a technician and as a business man. Not as a musician. Why I can have the right to question his career? Media its subjective so its not free of criticism. You can go crazy talking about Reznor if you please.

It's a shame those that hate him (his lyrics) can't actually see how talented he is though. The guy is amazing in almost everything he does.

Ummm, Isn't that what rap mostly is, hate music. The thing i don't get is that if he was black people wouldn't be bitchin about his music but since he's black and he has the attention and respect from white teenagers around the world, people put up a fuss. does anyone hear people making this much of a fuss over Xzibit, Snoop Dogg or anyone else? Hell when's the last time we seen Snoop Dogg on stage without being high as a kite? Does anyone protest about that? .....didn't think so.

The reason he keeps mentioning it and your getting sick of it is because he hears all this stupid he's homo or is he homophob bull****

and address it with a slap to let you know your opinion dosent matter to him.

I think he's saying there's better things to do than go troll in people's threads bashing someone that they like. You can go into a linux thread right now and tell them how much it sucks and windows is so awesome or go into an opera thread and tell them how much better firefox is but you don't. Just seems like you're making an extra effort to tell us how much you dislike him.

Listen to "Run Rabbit Run". For 3 minutes, he just flows and flows and flows. No chorus, no cheesy punch lines, just pouring it out about the frustrations of writing, amongst other things. That, right there, is art and music to my ears.
