Just wondering, the people that have been invited to test Longhorn, have you tested other software for Microsoft before this?

Yes. Office, Server 2003, WU, and XP SP2 are the ones I can remember off the top of my head.

i specified that i wanted to test longhorn but i only got an invitation to msn messenger 7.5 which is already leaked.

microsoft probably though i was too young to test longhorn (14).

How the hell do you beta test at 14? I'm thirteen, and when I read over the Microsoft Connect Terms, it clearly stated you had to be over the age of 16. Anyone tried clicking 'under the age of 16' on the form? What happens? Thanks.

There are too many threads like this... after my question is awnsered :shifty: ...

Delete the thread.

haha Got the invite!!! now the question is where is the software and then comes the question, who will be able to get free coppies when the final is released.... I've never done a pure os b4, just the Server SP1 and R2, thats it on OS's and the very end of SP2 since I know someone, but that is besides the point....

Furre, invitations have nothing to do with you register at connect.microsoft.com

In the future, I suspect it will be even harder to become a beta testers unless they continue allow the standard generic Beta ID for various beta program. That's probably the reason why both BetaPlace and WindowsBeta are still in good standing.

A little off topic but can one update the Longhorn Beta 1 on Widows update.

No, there won't be anything to update. They just release new builds whenever they need to. Further along, we will probably see some testing with WU, but not at the beginning.
