DoubleJ
I just built myself a new system (see sig) and after having it going a week I want to start to overclock it a little. Messing around I bumped the FSB slowly up to 149/37 CPU/PCI. It seemed to work for a short period of time, but then the computer just restarted and when XP started again it just went to reboot again. I backed it off to 141/35 and it seemes to be working. I have tons of fans and regreased the CPU and chipset myself with some arctic silver 3 compound and the temps are staying relatively low (40C CPU, 33C MB). I didn't adjust the core voltage at all. Any suggestions on how to push it a little more. Is it the PCI bus increase that is most likely causing me problems or should I be increasing the core voltage a little? Please don't just tell me that my system is fast enough and why bother. I'm someone who just like to get something for nothing. Thanks in advance for any suggestions. username
try upping your Vcore up to the next setting you have, then run at the 147 bus you were at and see if it ads stability, also try upping your ram voltage. Remember, with higher FSBs, it could be the RAM, CPU, Northbridge, PCI cards that are stopping you, but thats still not a bad OC at 141mhz FSB
