Kenno
I never know how hot my CPU temp could get until I found this program called CPUCooler. Very suprising my CPU stars at 120F, and now it's getting up to 125.6F. Is it normal for CPU temp? Or my CPU is beginning to burn?
AvCtUeRcA
That temp is not bad at all! Your cpu should be fine... unless it hits higher temps above 150+(????) I am using the new volcano 7+ and my cpu is at 130... that high because its in my desk... not very much air... but i have 5 case fans pulling it in. Those temps are nothing to worry about IMO. Take care!
LUTZIFER
Just out of curiosity... would there be any type of warning you'd get if your processor was about to burn up? Not that I think mine would be getting too hot, seeing is that it has been in the same spot on my desk, squeezed in amoung other things and running non stop for 2 and a half years. Though at minimum, like not actually doing anything on my computer, I am running at least 34 processes according to the Task Manager in Windows XP. With all that running, my computer is using 5 to 15% usage. Same things running using Win 98 was up around 75% usage. Sometimes I think I may be overworking my little processor, lol, and I wouldn't want to burn it up.
AvCtUeRcA
You should be fine... i do madd gaming for hours and it stays at the same temp (very close) :o) as for a warning... your computer may randomly shut down when its hot and not boot up ... ive seen computers not boot up until the cpu cools back down. Also... you can enable a warning on your bios to let you know when it hits a certain temp... mine is at 150F. I use an AMD chip...cuz they rule! lol and never had any heat problems. Many motherboards have kewl programs that let you monitor your cpu temp also. Cya later!

jessejlt
I can't say as I have no idea what processor you have, if it's two years old, that temperature might be a little high.
Kenno
My CPU is AMD Athlon 1.2 Ghz (no clocking) and it's only one year old. Is there anyway I can lower the temparature? I used Alpha cpu fan too.
jessejlt
That temperature is fine then, I've had my Athlon Thunderbird 1.33Ghz much higher than that.

XtremeX
My System Specs Power/Aux 75? FMotherboard 111? F CPU 131? F Its been like that for a while now you have nothing to worry about.
Nude Rooster
AMD's site actually says the dangerzone for Athlon Tbirds is about 90c/194f and for XP's 95c/203f.... Now they dont advise running them near this, but the processors will not burn up or cause damage until they reach these temps. If you want a warning, you can download Motherboard Monitor and configure it to give you warnings or even automatically shut down if you get too hot. Also alot of motherboards come with programs like this specifically for that moho, I think this is the case with ASUS and some others, look around on your mobo CD.
