Software to burn with 2 CD drives at once?

Question

As you can see with my sig, I have 2 CD burners. A friend of mine wants a LOT of data from me, that needs to be burned to 12 CDs. I would like to get this done as quickly as possible, so I need to use both of my burners. Easy CD creator won't allow me to do it, and I would like to avoid using Nero if possible.

Any hacks or patches to let me do this with CD Creator, or other programs that will let me do it?

Thanx in advance.

I don't like Nero, most of the time when I burn a cd with nero the filesystem is F***ed up and most of the computers I try to read it on either hang or recognise it as a music CD.

I DONT LIKE THE WAY NERO WRITES THE FILESYSTEM.

I have never had this problem with any other CD burning app.

Nero just plain sucks. I'm sorry to say it, but it does.

It has behaved the same way with every version I've tried 4.x through 5.5.

Buffer underruns aren't the issue here, I want to burn with 2 drives at once and use Easy CD Creator to do it if I can.

If you have used Nero a long time ago, sure it does suck back when it was new. However, maybe you should give it a second chance because that is the only program that I seem to know for supporting multiple recorders. All you need to do on the "Write" dialog is to click the checkbox that says "Use Multiple Recorders."

Nero 5.5.7.8 all the way baby! its the only one that does multiple recorders, either use it, or quit your bitching!

the word patch from roxio is few and far between, nero updates their software religiously roxio, hell your lucky if you see a new feature. usually they make you buy a whole new product.

By "patch" I meant a program that anyone had written that will manipulate ECDC into allowing 2 seperate instances to use seperate recorders.

I can get 2 instances of ECDC running but as soon as I start burning with one the other gives an error saying they are in use.

well that's cuz the ASPI layer that they use don't allow that and in essence only Nero does cuz they created their own or something.... the others aren't designed for that so it's worse to use a crack or something and burn and get iffy results than use something that's designed for it. Nero supports up to 32 burners (7 is by default i think and you have to buy an extra something to get up to that much) so yeah...

Get your computer together and make sure it's ready for Nero. Tip top software can't run on inferior hardware :) hehe.. KIDDDIN.. but they all write to CDs the same way and most of them have the same modes so it's nothing Nero does.

Oh trust me, My comp can handle it.

I only need to maintain a transfer rate of 7800KBps through the secondary IDE channel from an ATA100 hard drive on the primary channel, plus both drives have BURN-Proof in case it does get bogged down.

umm buddy nero is the best program in it's field out there. it's either you don't know how to use it properly or it's your system or burners nero wouldn't make tons of coasters unless it's a very old version. if you use the newest version(s) 5.5.x.x it's fine. and it's very good for multiple burners etc. learn how to use them and figure out your problem cuz nero's the best there is, you can't say it sucks cuz it doesn't. maybe with the way you've set up settings or something it does for you but it's the best burning program period.
