Sick
I just built a new computer w/ an Asus A7V333 mobo and an Athlon XP 2100. It's been together for about a week now, and I've noticed that the windows clock in the lower-right corner is often fifteen minutes slow. I'll update it w/ the time.windows.com synchronization, but then in about four hours it will be slow again. I know that this might be the CMOS battery, but I don't think it would be since the mobo is only a few weeks old. Anybody have any other ideas? configure Veteran Posted June 29, 2002 Veteran Share Posted June 29, 2002 :s Weird. Well.. since the battery isn't that expensive, try replace it anyway and see what happen..

Sick
Rooster, did your friend ever get it to quit? Or did it somehow "magically" stop?
Osiris
Indeed I have had this problem for some time. The first time it was occuring was the result of a power flow problem there use to be a vergence in the power flow from the AGP port to whatever, anyway it use to affect the clock, would always be slow etc. Then the next time it was the battery. and I believe there have been other posts like this asking this question, it seems to becomming more and more popular these days however the two problems ive alweays seen it as is a power problem or the battery Hope that helps mate. whatchadoin
we had that problem with our computer, and it got to the point i just gave up fixing it, well, i took off our virus scan, and that actually fixed the problem. it wasn't the battery or the power, just our crappy software. so try checking through your software and see if there are any known problems like that

Sick
Heh. Thanks guys! Well, I'm using an old crappy GeForce2 MX PCI, so I don't think it has anything to do with the AGP slot, and I'm using Norton 2002 for the virus-scan. I'll try disabling it for a day and seeing if it works. Thanks again! :D
