Need help with my new mobo...

Recommended Posts

Okay, here's what I have: MSI K3 Ultra (KT333) with Athlon XP

1800+ chip, 256megs of PC2100 DDR and a GeForce 2 MX400

(not interested in overclocking/tweaking yet!!)

1- The memory is CAS 2.5 but the BIOS options are 2 or 3... which one to choose??

2- The GeForce is AGP... using AGP 4X, what should I use for the aperture size, 1 M/S Read and Write settings??

3- Have an inkjet printer... what Parallel port setting to use:

ECP, EPP, bidirect??

4- The mobo has a 266mhz FSB, seems the BIOS only allows between 100 and 240, why?? and what about the CPU Ration/Vcore setting??

5- Anything else I should know??

thanks alot for any info

1> Cas 2 will be overclocking your memory, Cas 3 will be underclocking it (i could be wrong, not a memor expert)

2> set your agp to 4x if your card supports it, set your aperture to 1/2 your ram or as high as it goes, which ever comes first, turn your 1 m/s read writes if you can,

3> I dont know jack about printers

4> set your bus speed at 133 that makes your ddr ram run at 266, default vcore 1.75, leave it there if you aren't overclocking
