Turning off "site not found" error

Recommended Posts

If you mean the popup, you can change this so it shows the error on a page instead.

Go to about:config

find browser.xul.error_pages.enabled and change it to true.

Edit: blah got beat :p

How do I turn off that error message that says "the website (site) could not be found. please check the name of the site and try again."? It's a pain, and it's about time I fixed it.

You're talking about FireFox, right? If so, I completely understand. Everyone once in awhile my FF will throw these "fits" where everything I click on in Favorites returns that damn idiotic messege! Funny how I can open IE and go to any one of the same sites and never get the error. This has been happening for along time, through several formats. I usually have to close FF and clear cache and crap to get it to stop or sometimes I can click the same link over and over and it will eventually decide to let me view the site.

A damn "Retry" button would work wonders for that error box.

What the heck? That last post was made 2 minutes before the 2nd! What's going on there?

I think it has something to do with neowin's different servers having different times, but the one that was posted first is still on top.
