AMD Gurus only, please...

Processor: Athlon XP 1600+

My CPU temperature starts off as 39C, and goes to 54-57C in normal conditions. The highest temperature I have seen for this processor is 61C when encoding video. Is this normal for my processor, or do I need to do something about it?

The person who voted yes must run an intel based processor, 61 degrees isn't bad, XP's dont reach danger zone till you hit 95 degrees celcius. I wouldn't even worry until you get into the 70's, then I would start getting nervous because you dont know how far off your temprature meter thingy is, there is always a margin of error.

I think i would rather have $40 worth of rocks. My system is made up of necessary things. That would be set right next to a neon lite on the street on trash day. Just a personal preference. Buy a good heatsink and start overclockin.
