bilston
I got the Sparkle 400W PSU and it emits an awful high pitched squeal. Is there anyway I can get rid of this as it is really annoying. I've put some of that sound proofing mat inside the casing of the PSU but I can still hear it :/ Thanks for any help.
jessejlt
Has it always done that ? I have a Sparkle in my sons computer and if not for the fact that it boots up I'd have no idea there's even a psu in there. If it hasn't always made this noise you might want to lube the bearings. bilston
Hi, its not the fan because I stopped it with a screwdriver and the squeal was still there :/ Thanks anyway. Anyone else?
username
The hight pitch is probably from the 80mm fan inside, you can open it up and replace it with one of you liking. The panaflos are nice and quiet edit, just read your last post huh, thats crazy then, does it have two fans?
jessejlt
It sounds like you've got a problem with one of your capacitors, or possibly that ones blown, but I'm not sure about one being blown because I've never seen a psu that still worked after a capacitor blowing. If you can open it and look inside for anything that looks like it exploded, also take a look at getting a new psu since most people don't know enough to replace a capacitor, and it's never really a good idea anyhow.
