Battle at the Bridges

So it's airing on ABC here on the East Coast. Not sure if it's being put on live across the country or held for primetime but it's definitely worth a look. Daly and Woods Vs. Goosen and Mickelson in a best ball format. Pretty entertaining seeing these guys play loose and have more banter than we're used to on the PGA Tour. They're all miked up too.

to me the teams weren't totally fair. but i guess it was more of a power vs. short game thing. phil and retief are just way too consistent. tiger may be the best of the bunch, but he probably had to hold up a lot of daly's end of it too...

John Daly was off his game big time. The announcers (Azinger and Faldo...great combination and they are funnier than hell) said Daly had just played in a tournament in Germany where he placed 3rd, so I'm pretty sure he was tired beyond all hell. I love Daly, though, he doesn't give BS interviews, he goes out to play and doesn't get caught up in the extra crap.

During the match, Phil was irritating me though. He kept making little snide comments about Tiger - "Don't want to **** off the man". I've always liked Phil but he came off a little arrogant yesterday, probably because it was his home course and such.

Anyway, I think Bro is right. The teams weren't exactly equal. But, if Daly were on his game they would have probably won the thing. I would love to see Vijay and Tiger go against Phil and Retief.
