dont like IE7...doesnt flow well with me..and of course fails the acid 2 test but that was no surprise. i hope they do alot more work with it or at least make it more customizable, wich i am sure they will. i aint complaing just puttin in my 2 cents

On the Connect site, where do we report bugs against IE7 on WinXP? I can't spot a feedback, submit bug or similar link on the connect site, but the beta instructions say to use the Connect site to submit bugs... am I missing something obvious or is the bug-reporting mechanism not yet in place on Connect for this program?

To report Bugs on the Connect site go to the Longhorn And IE7 home and scroll down to the articles. Click on View All, the second link on that page is bug reporting

Sounds? Really? Ehrm ... I doubt Neowin would want me to copy the Vista sounds to somewhere public, but here's a screeny : http://gallery.damn.be/v/Desktop/vista/sounds.jpg.html

Good point, but I as well would LOVE to hear some new sounds, can you ask or can a mod say something about the matter?

Ehrm, we already know the answer to this! I won't share any of Vista's files with anybody .... Maybe Gates if he asks friendly ;)

I was uhh reading the "newspaper" today and there was an article on Vista Beta 1, however, somebody damaged about half of the article by tearing chunks out of the paper... It was the ONLY article I could find in the "newspaper" on Vista Beta 1, and it was talking about the DVD. Any information on the mysterious missing pieces from the paper? ;)

Does anyone has any idea how to enable that funcky new desktop look?  With all the transparancy and everything?

Didn't that require DX9?  Because in this copy only DX8.1 is installed ...

Mmm .. can't find how to enable that new flashy desktop ...

Oh, and DX9c is installed, but the Nvidia driver only reports DX8.1... Well, it's a beta ;)

But the overall feel of Vista is smooth ... I'm running it on a Northwood 3.2Ghz, 2 Gb PC3200 ram and a 6800GT AGP ... Sometimes it's a bit borky, but it's a beta afterall...

I modded my XP to be as minimalistic as possible, and that's a very big difference with this Vista, there are buttons everywhere, and you can access almost everything from virtually anywhere ... Will take a lot of time to get used to, or even much time to mod everything back to it's minimalistic form ...

You make a new partition and then do a clean install of Vista. Not sure if you can upgrade but it's useless to for many reasons.... after testing it you can easily just keep the partition to install Beta 2 on or you can just delete it and merge the disk space with your primary partition again ;)

Hello, erm, this is Bill Gates and I have seemed to misplace the .wav files that play when you logon/logoff to Windows Vista and I will erm, send you 2 billion microbucks if you pm them to soypowered, my good friend, who will then pass them on to me, that would be fantastic!

Thanks!

    • What about it? The old MV2 version will not work.
    • Wow, this is some Iran, Cuba, China, Russia, North Korea-level citizen surveillance right there, the UK's government has gone totally mad. Power trip indeed, their politicians are totally out of control about this issue. They're starting to cross limits I wouldn't have imagined, to be honest. British people, fight this, your privacy and freedoms are in danger. Vote this government out of power.
    • Nintendo unveils The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake, and it's out this year by Pulasthi Ariyasinghe Confirming many rumors, Nintendo officially announced a remake of the classic The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, the very first game in the series that offered a 3D experience to fans. Unlike previous remasters and re-releases, the originally 1998-released fantasy adventure game is being remade from the ground up for the Nintendo Switch 2 console this time. "The Nintendo 64 classic returns for a new generation in 2026, reborn exclusively for Nintendo Switch 2," said the company about today's announcement. While Nintendo didn't go into much detail about the project, other than confirming its existence, we did get a small teaser trailer at the Direct presentation today. Catch the footage below: With a tapestry as the backdrop, the first half of the trailer tells the tale of Hyrule, the Kokiri forest dwellers, and their fairy companions. It goes onto introduce "one particular boy" without a fairy, which then cuts to a sleeping Link, showcasing what looks like the new art style being introduced in the remake. Unfortunately, no gameplay or a look at the world has been revealed yet. The game originally released for the Nintendo 64 back in 1998, offering a time travel adventure where Link is once again going up against the evil king Ganondorf. The hugely well-received title has only been playable on modern Nintendo consoles using the Switch Online + Expansion Pack membership. The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake for the Nintendo Switch 2 doesn't have a firm release date yet, but Nintendo says it will be released sometime in 2026. Considering just how many publishers are avoiding the Grand Theft Auto VI release nowadays, the company may copy that strategy and also opt to bring this out before November this year.
