Windows Vista Beta 1

Recommended Posts

Meh it's probably too buggy to use right now. I downloaded it at over 1750 kb/s last night from an undisclosed location. Haven't burned or installed it though.

They will usally let you in for a few beta, nothing big like msn messenger or things like that then later if you report bugs and are dedicated to them then you get some big beta test to do!!, hope this helps you understand better

Go here: https://beta.microsoft.com/content/bphome.asp and Log In.

Now you're supposed to see some kind of Windows Vista Beta download thingy at the bottom of the page.

Lucky you! I've been checking my inbox every second but still there's nothing. I don't like when they leek something that is private, so i guess i have to wait for the public beta or for an invitation!

I just found an older link on Paul Thurrots Site - It shows a few pictures of the PDC2003 rock video that Microsoft presented at that time.

http://www.winsupersite.com/showcase/longh...c2003_movie.asp

Back in 2003, this was actually the first time when I was thinking: "Wow, Microsoft finally hired some decent artists and Longhorn won't look as sparse as previous versions did!". Looking at the Content that is currently in Beta 1, I'm pretty disappointed.

But I really think/hope that Microsoft hasn't shown anything yet or that what we currently see in Beta1 will be the lowest configuration for Longhorn/Vista.

The PDC2003 designs looked awesome, simple, clear, beautiful. Let's hope that Beta 2 will finally show what Microsoft has worked on so far.

Honestly that's the question I want to ask too, my key didn't ask me to activate at all, I am thinking about Windows already did it automatically when I first connected to the interweb?

it says you can download it if you are an MSDN member... what level of membership do you need to get it? Can you download it if you subscribe to MSDN library? or do you need the MSDN w/ Operating Systems?

Thanks
